Job summary
An exciting opportunity
has arisen for a permanent Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner within
the Orthopaedic Inpatient Team based at Sunderland Royal Hospital. This role will focus on providing a high
standard of Physiotherapy assessment, treatment and evaluation to patients
alongside qualified Physiotherapists. The
post-holder will be given their owntrauma
and orthopaediccaseload to manage appropriately under the supervision of
qualified staffwith a focus on patient education and prescribing exercises.
The job will be an

This post will involve
working within a weekend and Bank Holiday rota to ensure continuity of care is
maintained across a seven day service.

Qualifications
Essential
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to NVQ level 1 or equivalent.
- A minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification with additional training in the specialty field or equivalent evidence of underpinning knowledge.
- Comprehensive competency based training and the application of physiotherapy protocols and guidelines within the specialty area.
Desirable
- Associate member of Physiotherapy
- An understanding of South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust, its culture, strategic direction, achievements and NHS standing

- Previous experience as a Physiotherapy support in related specialty
- Plan and provide clinical programmes of therapeutic activity within framework
