We have an exciting opportunity for a speech and language therapist to join our highly regarded adult team. We are part of a comprehensive service that covers children and adults which enables us to learn from each other and provide opportunities and training for staff across our teams. You be vital to the delivery of our service across South Tyneside and Sunderland.

You will be keen to develop your skills and experience working in with adults with speech, language, voice, communication and swallowing disorders in acute and community settings and we will support you to do that!

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our Speech and Language Therapy Team in South Tyneside and Sunderland. The role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to develop clinical skills and experience of working with adults with a range of voice, communication and swallowing difficulties across acute and community settings.

Excellent support, supervision and training will be provided as we have therapists working across a wide range of specialities. You will be required to meet the travel requirements of the role. This post will be subject to satisfactory DBS check at enhanced level and HCPC registration

You will be joining a well-established innovative team of Speech and Language Therapists. You will be committed to team working. You will be well supported and supervised to develop your clinical skills within our team, and you will be encouraged to access CPD and training.

We are a patient-focussed service and continually strive to improve what we do for the benefit of the people who live in our area. Our team has a strong research background and you will be encouraged to develop your skills in this area to ensure we translate innovation, audit and research outcomes into practice for improved patient care and outcomes.
