Job summary

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT) Podiatry and associated services is looking for candidates that will provide excellent leadership to its teams who provide patient care to the South Tyneside and Sunderland population.

This is a great opportunity for the right individual who is looking for a challenging and yet very rewarding role at a time of change, for both the Directorate, Organisation and the NHS as a whole. The post-holder will work as part of the Directorate of Therapies Senior Management Team, where you will be responsible for shaping the future of Podiatry and associated services across South Tyneside and Sunderland areas striving for excellent patient care. You will be innovative and will adapt well to change, being required to support the Clinical Director and Directorate manager in implementing service change for the Podiatry and associated services as the Directorate continues with its transformation agenda.

You will work with a range of clinical and non-clinical professionals within the Therapies Directorate and the wider organisation, driving key national and local priorities as agreed with the Directorate Manager.

Candidates will be expected to work on both South Tyneside and Sunderland hospitals, and should be able to meet the travel requirements of the post with community services provided.

Main duties of the job

To work closely with Education and workforce leads to secure our future workforce and create a culture of development within the teams at all levels.

Applicants should have significant NHS experience, strong collaborative leadership and management skills, and must be passionate about leading a future-focused Podiatry, Biomechanics, patient appliances, PCAMs and PCN services. You will have knowledge, understanding and experience of key developments and challenges within the Podiatry and associated professions, and how this aligns with regional and national priorities.
