Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust: Children's Speech and Language Therapy are seeking two Band 5 Children's Speech and Language
Therapists, full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12-month temporary contracts to
cover maternity leave.
We are seeking two qualified Band 5 Speech
and Language Therapists to join our Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Team
in South Tyneside and Sunderland.
You will work within
the Community and the Complex and Additional Needs parts of our team,
supporting children with a range of speech, language and communication needs in
nursery & school settings. One Post will be based in Sunderland and one Post
in South Tyneside. Our needs-led team is dynamic, well-structured and well-run
and you will have opportunity to work with other Therapists and assistants.
Main duties of the job
You will have experience of working with children with a range of speech, language
and communication difficulties, and be able to assess, plan and provide
intervention and therapy within a range of settings. You will have excellent
interpersonal skills and be committed to working in a multi-disciplinary way to
facilitate the best outcomes for children. You will be well-supported by our
dynamic Speech and Language Therapy team. You will be part of a forward-thinking department that provides a range of specialist services and is always
striving to be innovative and put research into practice to improve patient
outcomes. Developing our team members in their career path is the corner-stone
of this. This will be an ideal opportunity for a Therapist looking to develop
their skills in this area who also has values that align with those of our

people. Our Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Team covers South
Tyneside and Sunderland localities. There are excellent links across the
Childrens Therapy staff with joint supervision and sharing practice sessions.

- Previous experience of working with children.

- Relevant/recognised Degree qualification in SLT - BSc/MSc.
- HCPC Registration.
- RCSLT Membership eligibility.

- Completion of pre-registration year - RCSLT NQT competences signed-off - full clinical autonomy.
