An exciting opportunity has arisen for Two Lead CT Radiographers to

In recent years CT services at STSFT have welcomed significant
investment, including two new Siemens Somatom Go systems, which have been
installed at South Tyneside District Hospital in 2021 and a state-of-the-art
Canon prism CT scanner, which was installed at Sunderland Royal Hospital in
2023. Alongside these, there are
two further Canon scanners located within the main Radiology and Emergency Department
at SRH.
This

a dynamic and
forward-thinking CT Service, working alongside the successful counterpart at the other site and CT
Advanced Practitioners as part of a new leadership structure. You would be
instrumental in facilitating and leading ongoing service reviews in order to
create a cohesive, streamlined, and robust CT Service for the South Tyneside
and Sunderland area.
Main duties of the job
The Trust was formed in 2019 following a merger of CHS FT & ST FT and now provides healthcare to a population in excess of 430,000. The
STSFT CT Departments provide a wide range of imaging examinations to support
the care of our patients, covering imaging for all in-patients and an extensive
range of out-patient CT examinations. The CT department also undertakes
specialist examinations including biopsies, percutaneous cryo-therapies,
colonography studies and cardiac investigations. The Trust also has the Integrated Diagnostic
Centre, which will house CT, MRI and PET-CT, which is located on the South
Tyneside site and opened in 2023. Currently
both departments provide a seven-day service, with out-of-hours provision
currently under review.
You will require significant previous experience and knowledge from working
within a clinical CT environment, and will be responsible for day-to-day
management of the Department. The role is to provide day-to-day organisation of the CT Service on your base-site and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality
imaging service to patients. Excellent communication skills
are needed, and you will be expected to demonstrate
impressive interpersonal skills, drive and leadership, together with a caring
and professional attitude.
Preference will be
given to those with existing Post-Graduate CT qualification; however Applications welcome from those without such a qualification as
