Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Photographer to join our small team within the Medical Photography Department at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.

We are committed to providing a comprehensive clinical photographic service based across two hospital sites within the city of Sunderland.

The Post is part-time, 15 hours per week.

You will be based at the Sunderland Royal Hospital site, but we are looking and planning to expand the photographic service across to the South Tyneside Hospital site.

We are seeking candidates with a Degree in Photography to enable enrolment onto Post-graduate Certificate in Clinical Photography. You must have experience working within the Photography industry or experience of working within a Medical Photography department. You will have knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and patient care.

You should be experienced in digital imaging workflow and be familiar with photography image-management systems.

A portfolio of recent work is expected to be submitted electronically for those shortlisted, to demonstrate their range of photographic skills.

Main duties of the job

The STSFT Medical Photography is a growing department within the Trust. You will be required to support the provision of an efficient clinical photography service for the South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.

You will have the responsibility for providing clinical photographs across a range of specialties to help patient care, treatment planning and areas of litigation; as well as being responsible for providing a photographic support service to clinicians and users of the Trust.

You will be expected to work as part of the wider Medical Photography team but be equally capable of working alone.
