Job summary
We
have a vacancy for a Registered
Nurse or Allied Health Professional to join the Undergraduate Teaching Team as
Assistant Clinical Nurse/ AHP Lecturer.
The post holder will work alongside the
existing managerial team in line managing the Newcastle University teaching
team; co-ordinating, planning and delivering the Newcastle University UG
Medical Education MBBS curriculum alongside the current speciality teaching teams;
leading in some of the more complex planning and delivery of key concepts of
medical education. The post holder will also have significant responsibility
for student wellbeing and supporting the professional development of the
team.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will include
working collaboratively alongside the current management team with
responsibility for recruiting into and managing the undergraduate teaching team,
co-ordinating the planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of the
Newcastle Curriculum in both the classroom and clinical environment for
students across the five years of the MBBS programme. The post holder will also
be responsible for developing and maintaining the Undergraduate Department
quality processes; supporting professional development of staff; ensuring
excellent student experience; organising and developing clinical
placements and placement areas; delivering evidence based teaching sessions to
medical students; mentoring staff and medical students and providing pastoral
support; playing a key role in ensuring that the required standards/targets for
delivery of Undergraduate Medical Education are met.
