The service provides wound care advice, support, assessments, education and training to both hospital sites, community nursing teams, hospices, practice nurses, GPs, residential and nursing homes.

The Trust aims to be recognised as one of the safest healthcare organisations both nationally and internationally. Reducing the incidence of pressure ulcers which have developed in our care is one of our patient safety priorities within our Quality Strategy (2018-2025). In addition wound management is a widespread and often underestimated health problem in the UK and the effective management of wounds has been determined a national priority with studies indicating that wound prevalence is set to increase due to increasing aging population over the next 10 years.
