Job summary

Are you an internationally educated nurse wanting to complete your NMC application to join the register and work as a registered nurse? If yes, then South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT) should be your choice of employer!

You must have successfully completed the IELTS/OET to the required standard, however, we welcome applications from international nurses who have still to pass the CBT.

We are looking for nurses who are enthusiastic and motivated, who can demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude, who have a desire to provide high quality, effective and efficient patient care.

The successful candidate must work well in a team and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and relatives/carers. You will be required to be receptive to change, dynamic and demonstrate active assistance and support when working as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

As an international nurse you will be supported with CBT (if required) and OSCE preparation. We will provide guidance, support and feedback throughout your transitional period, while you develop the necessary knowledge and skills in becoming a confident and competent practitioner. You will join the Trust as a Band 3 International Nurse until you have achieved full registration with the NMC.

If successful, you will be employed full-time by the Trust on a Skilled Worker Visa during which time you will be required to complete the OSCE and gain full NMC registration in line with the UKVI Skilled Worker Visa requirements. When successfully completed you will transfer to a Band 5 registered nurse position.

Successful candidates must be in a position to commence in post by 16th April 2024. If you currently hold a Tier 4 (student) visa, in line with UKVI requirements, in order to move to a Skilled Worker visa, you must complete your studies by April 2024.

Successful candidates must have

Successful completion of the IELTS/OET to the required standard.

Have registered nurse experience, within your own country of practice, within the previous 18-months.

Candidates need to show that they meet the NMC health, character and English language requirements as part of their application although candidates will be supported with CBT (if required) and OSCE.
