We are looking for nurses who are enthusiastic and motivated, who can demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude, who have a desire to provide high quality, effective and efficient patient care.

The successful candidate must work well in a team and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and relatives/carers. You will be required to be receptive to change, dynamic and demonstrate active assistance and support when working as part of a team.

As a new registrant, or a registrant moving into the NHS for the first time, you will be supported through our six month multi-professional Preceptorship programme, by our Preceptorship Lead and in clinical practice by an allocated and experienced clinical practitioner (a preceptor). We will provide guidance, support and feedback throughout your transitional period, while you develop the necessary knowledge and skills in becoming a confident and competent practitioner.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate nursing care for patients' designated to your care; be expected to supervise non-registered staff as stipulated by the NMC under the requirements of delegation, and always work to the NMC Code and Trust policies and procedures.

You will provide effective leadership and assist with the management and organisation of the ward/department in the absence of the nurse in charge, whilst complying with the Trusts vision, values and behavioural compact.

With the ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information, you will work as part of a team as well as working without supervision. You must be able to demonstrate effective communication and leadership skills, be competent in the use of IT such as Microsoft Office and have a good understanding and knowledge base of national health and social care policy.
