If so, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT) are looking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individuals who can work in a busy, high-pressured and sometimes challenging clinical environment.
At STSFT, we welcome applications from candidates who are able to work at least 24 hours per week up to full time (37.5 hrs), as services provide care 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. There would be an expectation that applicants will be flexible as you would be rostered to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends and bank holiday in order to support the needs of the service, although flexible working requests will be considered.
We welcome applications from those with previous care experience and from those who are new to care, as full training is provided.
You must be available to attend a face-to-face interview on the day. All interviews will be held at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
We have posts available at South Tyneside District Hospital, Sunderland Royal Hospital and within the wider community, however, applicants will be expected to work across sites when required by the service.Applicants who wish to work within community services must have access to a vehicle which can be used for work purposes.
Main duties of the job
Applicants are expected to display the required behaviors and attitudes needed to provide safe and compassionate care to our patients and possess the required skills for this role.
It is essential you have good communication and organisational skills and are able to work under pressure. You must be able to demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude in all aspects of care delivery.
We provide a comprehensive Care Certificate Programme (which consists of both classroom-based and self-directed study) that will support you in achieving the competencies and skills required to deliver high quality and safe patient care.
It is a condition of employment that all Healthcare Assistants must attend and complete the Care Certificate and achieve their competencies within 12 weeks of commencing in post. Progression to Band 3 is on satisfactory completion of the Care Certificate and a period of consolidated learning.
To comply with the Young Worker regulations applicants must be aged 18 or over to be able to meet shift working requirements on any day of the week and be able to work both day and night shifts as required.
