Job summary

We are seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our dynamic Business Intelligence team, where youll play a key role in delivering analytical insight and data-driven support across both operational and clinical areas of the Trust. This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of services, helping teams understand their performance, inform strategic decisions, and drive continuous improvement in quality and patient care.

As a BI Analyst, youll bring strong technical expertise in data analysis along with a practical understanding of the business areas you support. Youll collaborate closely and build strong relationships with operational and clinical colleagues to understand service pathways and translate data into meaningful intelligence that adds real value.

Our Business Intelligence team sits within the Directorate of Performance and Information Management, which oversees the full data lifecyclefrom collection and governance to analysis and reportingsupporting both internal priorities and national requirements. Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will bring strong analytical skills and hands-on experience using a range of methods to interrogate, interpret, and translate data into actionable insights. Youll work closely with operational and clinical teams to identify trends, make informed recommendations, and highlight areas for further exploration that support service improvement and patient care.

Our Business Intelligence team works across a wide range of departments within the Trust, collaborating with staff at all levelsfrom Directors and managers to administrators and clinicians. Together, we deliver high-quality information and insights that drive performance and improve outcomes for patients, aligned with our Directorates shared vision: Working together to deliver excellence in what we do to support patient care one goal, one team.

Essential

  • Educated to at least degree level or Health Informatics Qualification equivalent to level 6 (or significant and demonstrable experience in a Business Intelligence, Performance or Information Management setting).
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Desirable

  • Level 6 qualification or above in relevant discipline.
  • Project/Programme management qualification.
  • Relationship management/ customer service training.
  • Management or leadership qualification.
  • Service improvement certification/training.
  • Microsoft SQL/SSRS certification/training.

  • Significant experience working within a data orientated environment/team.
  • Worked with big data and employ data interrogation, transformation and visualisation techniques using relevant software, such as Power BI.

  • Reverse-engineered existing analyses and replicate the method and results.
  • Worked as part of a multidisciplinary team.
