We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our practice education team in this newly created role as a Practice Placement Educational Coordinator with the NMAHP Education team within South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT).

You will help us to support the expansion of student placement capacity, whilst ensuring students are provided with high quality placements and learning opportunities across our hospital and community environments. Our PPF team are key roles within the Corporate Nursing and Quality directorate and are there to coach, guide and support student Nurses, Midwives and Allied Healthcare Professionals whilst on placement in STSFT.

This role be autonomous in completing audits, ensuring placements meet the high standards required and triaging of student communications amongst many other things, this role will be varied and needs and enthusiastic person with a passion for education and training!

Main duties of the job

This role will work predominantly across both acute hospital sites and at times in community venues where students have placements as part of their nursing, midwifery or AHP placements. The role compromises mainly of 9-5 Monday-Friday hours but you may be asked to work outside of these hours on occasions.

The role is newly created in line with needs of the service to be hands on with clinical audits and contact with universities and students to ensure seamless and high-quality student placements in line with the deanery requirements.

The role requires and enthusiastic, quick to learn individual who is personable and knowledgeable about students and education service and what we offer.

You should have excellent technology skills navigating excel and other systems, regularly updating systems and creating them where need to make workstreams streamlined to support the wider team.

The role requires a team player who is keen to learn and work in a fast paced environment!
