Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our award-winning communications and engagement team. This role is to cover a period of maternity leave within the team. You will play a key role Creative Design Assistant in supporting the delivery of our graphic design service.

The Creative Design Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Trusts growing graphic design service. You will report to the Graphic Design Officer and support the delivery of a wide range of design projects.

Working with external suppliers to source quotes for production of materials.

Helping with the design and production of Trust publications.

Creating and amending a wide range of artwork and materials.

Making sure all content adheres to both the Trust and NHS brand guidelines.

Provide design support for Trust events and conferences.

Essential

  • Excellent planning skills to log and manage a number of design requests simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and a high quality and efficient design service is provided
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills and initiative to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Excellent team player and ability to engage with people at all levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus to proof materials and ensure key print and design work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Proficient in the use of: Word / Email / PowerPoint / Microsoft Office / Teams / Databases / Excel or equivalent

Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 2 in English Language and Maths or equivalent standard.
  • Extensive experience in relevant subject area (i.e. graphic design) and knowledge of graphic design software packages to diploma level.

Physical skills

Essential

  • Willing and able to attend events outside of normal working hours as required during peak periods.
  • Required to physically lift, put up and move display boards, carry boxes of publications and other materials for Trust events.
  • Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.

Experience

Essential

  • Experienced using Adobe Creative Suite to produce creative and professional printed and digital visuals and finished materials.
  • Experience delivering work to specific brand guidelines.
  • Experience of using and designing for digital / online platforms.
  • Experience in the use of digital tools, social media, apps and online platforms to update content.

Desirable

  • Previous work experience in NHS.
