This Post is only open to current members of the Medical Records Team at STDH & SRH.
This role is to primarily support and comply and respond to requests for information under Access to Health Records Act 1990, General Data Protection Regulations and Data Protection Act 2018.
You will support the Access and Disclosure Team Leader in providing specialist advice to the organisation and support compliance and conformance with all relevant standards and legislation, including the Data Protection Act (2018), General Data Protection Regulations 2016 (GDPR) and Access to Health Records (1990).
You will deal with patients, solicitors, Police, external organisations and members of the public on a daily basis. You must be able to cope with reading sensitive and upsetting material.
Main duties of the job
The Access & Disclosure Team is a team sits within the Medical
Records Department. The primary role is to deal with requests from internal
and external agencies for subject access requests. This involves reading,
quality checking, preparing and copying the medical records to be released
under the Access to Health Records and Data Protection Act. The Team also deal
with Adoption and Transgender patients when the patient receives a new record and
the notes need to be redacted. Processing of Deceased case notes, including
requests for the Records, sending the Records to an off-site agency and
updating the System when the Team are advised that a patient has passed away.
