Job summary

Were looking for someone who demonstrates commitment to achieving both their own and the Trusts goals, whilst fully contributing to the team spirit.

The successful candidate will play a significant part in the day to day running of the Financial Management Department. We are looking for you to assist the Finance Managers to ensure the provision of a high quality financial advice and business support service to the Division.

You must be qualified to AAT level 4, NVQ level 4 or equivalent, or with significant role experience and have an excellent knowledge of spreadsheet, database and computerised ledger applications.

Ideally but not essential is a good understanding of the NHS finance regime. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels and a real commitment to excellent service delivery. You should have experience of working in a busy finance office environment. You must be capable of working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring consistency and accuracy, able to prioritise workloads and be able to work on your own initiative as well as under supervision.

Being able to work flexibility and with continuously changing working practices is essential.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Finance Officer you will provide necessary support to the financial management team to ensure the provision of high quality financial advice as well as business support to Corporate Services. Part of the role will be to use a computerised ledger system and Microsoft office packages, this is to provide analysis to department managers and budget holders.

The role is based at Sunderland Royal hospital with hybrid home working arrangements in place and the working hours are Monday to Friday. You will work within a well-established team to ensure deadlines are met and a high level of service is delivered. Flexible working is supported.
