Job summary

To work in the South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust Child Health Department which covers Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland areas. The team look after all children who live, GP or school in the three areas from birth until 20 years old, ensuring a full complete record is held for each child. The team are based at Palmers Community Hospital in Jarrow and work Monday to Friday.

Hours per week: 15

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the day-to-day input of medical data onto the Child Health Information System.

Maintenance of Childrens electronic record on the child health system, including health checks, immunisations, blood spot reports etc.

Occasional reception cover to book patients into electronic systems, direct patients to correct departments and offer advice to patients looking for departments.

Scanning of documents and attaching them into childrens electronic records.

Work closely with Health Visitors, School Nurses, G.Ps and the 0-19 yrs service providing clerical support and advice on childrens immunisation status and health surveillance.
