Job summary

We are recruiting an Apprentice Information Assistant to our Information Services team, to support high quality data visualisation reports for our operational, clinical and corporate teams to help manage services and improve patient care in the organisation.

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity to join a team that works with a wide range of customers across most departments in the Trust. Collaborative working with a variety of staff at all levels is a key element of the role to achieve our shared goals and objectives.

The candidate should have experience of using data, good administrative skills and be detailed-oriented, along with being able to work on their own initiative and manage/prioritise workload effectively to achieve deadlines. Knowledge and experience of database principles and MS Excel is preferable.

The duration of the apprenticeship is 24 months subject to regular reviews to demonstrate progress and following successful completion will move into a substantive position. Apprentices will commence on Annex 21 of the salary stated and to support development in the role the postholder is required to complete a L3 Business Administrator Standard over the period of the apprenticeship. 5 GCSEs Grade A-C (level 2), including Maths and English are essential for the role.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the Reporting Manager & Assistant Reporting Managers in providing a timely response to queries based on standard information flows
  • Facilitate production & maintenance of routine information reports
  • Maintain the team tracking log for all information requests including ad-hoc and FOI' requests & produce management information on a regular basis
  • Maintain & administer team logs relating to our information governance requirements
  • Maintain & administer GDPR Safe haven & Cyber Security protocols of all datasets, submissions & regular reporting
  • Oversee data Launchpad accessibility, ensuring that end users have the required access to relevant reports
  • Act as team librarian for routing data Launchpad reports, including maintaining & updating relevant metadata that facilitates efficient & effective report location for end users
  • Develop an understanding of the systems & reports available to meet customers information needs
  • Assist in ensuring effective communications within the department
  • Review themes for ad hoc performance information requests to inform production of this information on a regular basis
  • Ensure local information is produced in accordance with agreed statutory and/or local definitions
