Job summary
We are looking for a Creative Design Apprentice to
join our award-winning Communications and Engagement team. Do you have a passion for creative design and
for the NHS? Our graphic design service is growing and we are looking for an
exceptional candidate to join our friendly, hard-working team. This is a three year apprenticeship programme
(starting September 2023) which will lead to a permanent Band 4 Creative Design
Assistant role.
Please note - the three year apprenticeship programme salary will be annex 21 of band 4.
Main duties of the job
You will report to the Graphic Design Officer
and support the delivery of a wide range of design projects. This includes:
- Logging all requests for design support from across
the Trust (and other partners).
- Providing day-to-day support for the team with any
requests for design.
- Working with the team to develop creative internal and
external campaigns.
- Developing creative content in a wide variety of
formats (digital / multimedia / print).
- Working with external suppliers to source quotes for
production of materials.
- Helping with the design and production of the staff
magazine and member newsletters.
- Creating and amending a wide range
of artwork and materials (including but not limited to: stationery, forms,
brochures, leaflets, posters, social images and digital content).
- Making sure all content adheres to
both the Trust and NHS brand guidelines.
- Monitoring
media coverage, social media engagement and compiling data / feedback reports for
the PTE programme team.
- Provide design
support for Trust events and conferences.

- Experience working within a communications environment and/or with a graphic design team/studio.
- Working with and delivering work to specific brand guidelines.
- Experience of using and designing for digital / online platforms.
- Proficient in the use of digital tools, social media, apps and online platforms (including content management systems) to update content.
Desirable
- Previous work experience in NHS.
- Experience in accessible graphic design / creating inclusive content.
Qualifications

- Good command of English language both written and spoken. GCSE Level or equivalent standard.
- Level 4 qualification in relevant subject i.e. design / digital communication (or working towards)

- Required to physically lift, put up and move display boards, carry boxes of publications and other materials for Trust events.
