Job summary
Child Health is responsible for the management of childrens health records from birth to 19 years and 364 days old. We are responsible for three child health departments covering Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland and have over 150,000 active records on our EMIS system.
We are looking for a new Team Leader to join our Management Team to support in the day to day running of the department, auditing work, completing appraisals and creating reports.
The ideal candidate will have significant Child Health experience with a strong attention to detail. System knowledge is desirable.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Child Health Information System Manager/Assistant Manager to deliver the Child Health Information Service (CHIS) across Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside, and will have a good knowledge of Child Health and the complexity around the service needs.
Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Immunisation & Health Surveillance appointment system and the accurate input of medical data, you will also provide supervision to the team of Information Assistants.
You will assist the CHIS Manager/Assistant Manager in the development of the Department. Ensuring training needs are met for individual and service developments. Providing information when required pertaining to the National Immunisation/ Health Surveillance programme and providing a comprehensive admin/information support service to GPs, Health Visitors and School Nursing will be key to the role.
There is a need to work flexibly as and when required, due to tight deadlines and in order to meet service needs.
