Job summary

We are seeking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors to join our Board of Directors when existing Non-Executive Directors step down at the end of March and September. As a Non-Executive Director, you will contribute to the provision of strategic leadership, good governance and risk management. As an experienced Board-level leader you will offer challenge, support, and robust scrutiny. You will be inspirational, collaborative and value-based leader. We are keen to hear from those with senior executive level experience.

Post 1: Relevant finance experience in a large and complex organisation

Post 2: Relevant business experience in either marketing, HR/people development, law or a commercial organisation.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you can use your experience to|:

  • work alongside other Executive and Non-Executive members as an equal member of the Board;
  • bring independence, external perspectives, skills and challenge to strategy development;
  • hold the executive to account by providing purposeful, constructive scrutiny and challenge;
  • act as an ambassador for the Trust; and
  • shape and actively support a healthy culture for the Trust.

To be eligible to apply, you must be a member of one of the public constituencies of the Trust (South Tyneside, Sunderland, Durham, Gateshead or the rest of the North East and Cumbria) and be able to commit sufficient time to meet the demands of the post. Flexibility in terms of time commitment during the day and sometimes into the evening may be required.
