Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Senior Performance Analyst to work within our successful Performance team. The team are responsible for monitoring, analysing and driving improvements in performance across the Trust, in line with national and local requirements, as well as facilitating performance improvements. This includes national key performance indicators as outlined in the NHS Planning Framework (such as A&E, Cancer, Diagnostics and referral to treatment targets), contractual and internal indicators, as well as providing support Trust and system wide projects.

The successful candidate will undertake analysis and work closely with Directorates across the Trust to understand performance and provide analytic input, insight and support to internal and system wide projects to improve performance. The candidate will work closely with other members of the performance team, undertaking analysis, monitoring and forecasting to asses and anticipate any risks to achievement of performance indicators. From an external perspective the role also includes analysing how the Trust performs comparatively against key performance and quality indicators.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will have well developed analytical skills and experience of using a variety of methods including business intelligence to interrogate and interpret data, in order to highlight trends, make recommendations and suggest areas of further investigation with the operational and clinical teams.

We work on a flexible basis and are based between our offices on the Sunderland Royal Hospital site and home working, however there may be a requirement to visit any of our acute or community locations, for example South Tyneside District Hospital, Sunderland Eye Infirmary and Palmers Community Hospital.
