We have an
exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic dental clinician to
apply their knowledge and skills as Clinical Lead in our Community Dental
Service.
STSFT Community
Dental Service has a friendly and skilled workforce providing dental care to
people of all ages, including adults and children with special needs. Services
are provided in both primary and secondary care settings across Sunderland,
South Tyneside and Gateshead and for the purposes of pay point range, the
service is deemed high complexity for a managerial Band C dentist.
Our community
dentistry spans a wide range of services offering great opportunities for
involvement, including to practice all clinical facets of special care or
paediatric dentistry, administer and treat patients under inhalation sedation
and provide treatment under general anaesthesia/v sedation in the hospital
theatre setting
Main duties of the job
The
post holder will work 10 sessions / 37.5 hours per week and be expected to meet the
competencies for a Band C Managerial Dentist and maintain a clinical caseload.
You will be
responsible and accountable for the leadership, management, strategic planning
and delivery of high quality specialised clinical dental services, epidemiology
and screening programmes in STSFT Community Dental Service.
The Clinical lead
will have a leading role in relation to day to day operational issues in the
service and will play a key role in ensuring that patient safety, quality and
effective governance are strongly embedded in the service across all sites.
The Clinical Lead is
expected to contribute to the strategic development and improvement of the
service. You will be supported by a Directorate Manager and Matron as part of a
Directorate within the Community Division and be a key member of the
Directorate senior leadership team.
Whilst the role will
be based at Clarendon in Hebburn, there is a requirement for the post holder to
work across any of the sites in South Tyneside, Sunderland and Gateshead. The
Clinical lead is expected to provide a visible, accessible and authoritative
presence to whom staff, stakeholders, patients and their families/carers can
turn for assistance, advice and guidance.
You must be fully
registered with the UK General Dental Council and be eligible for the National Dental
Performers List without restrictions.
