Job summary
We have a vacancy for an experienced decontamination operative to join our established community equipment service in Gateshead.
Gateshead Equipment service is a central provider of a wide range of community loan equipment and wheelchairs to support patients in maintaining their personal independence, safety and mobility.
We are looking for a customer-focused operative who will carry out decontamination and assist collection / delivery of loan equipment for patients across the Gateshead area. You will have experience of the cleaning and decontamination of equipment & ensuring appropriate infection control standards are maintained.
You will also have experience of the assembly of furniture / medical equipment. When required you will also support the wider team, including the warehouse and technical team, assisting in areas such as repairs, picking orders and carrying out stock checks.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have:
Experience of cleaning & refurbishing equipment & ensuring appropriate infection control standards are maintained.
Experience of moving and handling / assembling and dissembling furniture or medical equipment & carrying out routine maintenance of equipment as required.
Experience of a community loan equipment service or of working in clients own homes or another community setting.
Experience of lone working, COSHH and Health and Safety legislation.
Experience of warehouse or logistics operations.
You will also have:
Good communication skills
Experience of prioritising workload and being able to multi task.
Experience of using electronic ordering systems and hand held scanning devices
This is a full time role, 37.5hrs per week, based at Team Valley Gateshead
