Are you an
experienced child and adolescent mental health practitioner looking for an
exciting opportunity to make a positive difference to the mental health of
children and young people? Do you have the ability to both deliver high quality
interventions, and develop the skills and knowledge of universal child
practitioners in child and adolescent mental health?
If so, we are
looking for a Systemic Family Practitioner (SFP) to support the delivery of Sunderlands
Community Childrens and Young Peoples Mental health Service. The service is Innovative and a creative targeted Children
and Young Peoples Mental Health Service (Getting Help).
This multi-disciplinary team delivers evidence-based
interventions for children, young people and their families who present with a
wide range of mental health difficulties.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the role is to
work as a member of the Sunderland Community Children and Young Peoples Mental
Health Service, providing Getting Help SFP Mental Health interventions to
Children and Young People.
This includes the direct provision
of evidence based, outcome focused standards of care to children, young people
and families and the delivery of high quality training, consultation and
support to other Childrens Service Providers.
We expect the
post holder to have sound children and young peoples mental health knowledge
and skills. You will have the aptitude, motivation and enthusiasm for working
within a ground breaking service. You must have:

Appropriate
professional qualification and registration in nursing, teaching (with QTS
Qualified Teacher Status), social work or allied health professions e.g. RGN,
RMN, OT, DipSW, or equivalent (CYP-IAPT post graduate qualification).
- Post
Graduate Diploma in Evidence Based Psychological Therapy (Systemic Family
Practice ) or due to complete and pass the course with 3 months of interview.
- Significant
experience of working with children and young people and families.
- Experience
of working to support the mental health needs of children, young people and
families in a systemic role.

autonomously, assessing child/young person needs, identify and implement a plan
of care and initiate appropriate holistic research-based health information and

childrens mental health service.
The service will be delivered from community bases as an integral part of an
agreed iTHRIVE multi-agency model of Children and Young Peoples Mental Health
Service provision.
Work collaboratively with multi professional teams to ensure practice is
efficient, effective, evidence based and safe
