Job summary

We are excited to be recruiting a Community Public Health Nurse to our well established 0-19 team. Main duties of the job

  • Work in partnership with and experienced team of Health Visitors and School nurses in the delivery of the Health Child Programme ranging from universal in reach to targeted in response
  • Deliver a range of support and advice to children, families and young people around managing behaviour, toileting, sleep and nutrition
  • Support public health activities e.g. sexual health, healthy weight and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Work with families, children and young people to support behaviour management and behaviour change
  • To work in partnership with Trust and South Tyneside Safeguarding Children & Adults Partnership
  • To assist in programmes of care for children 0-19 years with complex health needs
  • Skills around record keeping and be able to use of IT systems
  • We have a flexible and agile working practice

Desirable

  • Mentorship qualification/equivalent and or Practice Assessor training
  • Degree in nursing studies or healthcare related subject

Experience

  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Works to agreed standards and protocols.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in community setting
