Acute Medicine ACP trainee band 7 or qualified ACP.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our ACP workforce in acute medicine/ same day emergency care. We are expanding our team to enhance medical SDEC provision. We also assist with the acute medical workload and support ward rounds on AMU. Banding will be based on experience, portfolio in acute medicine and qualifications. Applicants would ideally have acute medicine experience or minimally experience in acute care. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about acute care.
Applicants for band 7 trainee ACP must have the appropriate qualifications to commence or already be studying for the master's level degree in advanced practice and would join us as a trainee ACP. Band 7 ACP would be considered for those with the masters degree in advanced practice without the experience/portfolio in acute medicine. All band 7 posts have progression through and up to band 8a upon completion of appropriate acute medicine portfolio and qualifications. Band 7 ACPs will work alongside an established workforce of experienced ACP's and Consultant Acute Physicians to support your development.
Applicants for band 8a must have a masters level degree in Advanced practice and have an up-to-date acute medicine portfolio.
All ACP's will be expected to cross site work as required and by 2026 the plan being all working on one site (RBH).

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for managing practice, using an advanced level of professional accountability, autonomy and judgement for highly complex decision-making across a broad range of situations/conditions.
To plan and manage complete episodes of care, working in partnership with others, delegating and referring as appropriate, to optimise health outcomes and resource use, as well as providing direct support to patients and carers.
To propose and implement service and policy development and redesign, impacting beyond own area and other disciplines, informed by current best practice and evidence-base, in accordance with values-based care and Poole Approach.
To act as a resource to others and deliver and evaluate a range of relevant specialist programmes of education and development for individuals and large groups.

Cross site working between Poole and RBH, all services will be transferred across to RBH site from January 2025, this date may be slightly delayed but will be within the early months of 2026.

Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
