We work very closely with the wider multidisciplinary team on a day to day basis including Dermatologists, Medical and Clinical Oncologists and Maxillofacial surgeons.
Our role is to provide specialist level nursing management and support for patients throughout their skin cancer pathway from diagnosis to surgery, treatments or palliative management.
This post will be for 9 months with the possibility to extend to 12 months.
This role requires an active UK NMC registration

Main duties of the job
- The Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist will provide expert nursing care and psychosocial support for patients diagnosed with skin cancer (primary and metastatic disease) and their families.
- To provide specialised clinical practice in order to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, multidisciplinary care for patients with skin cancer.
- To act as a resource and to provide specialist advice and education to patients, families and health care professionals.
- To act as an advocate and provide on-going support for patients/families.
- To support the delivery of a comprehensive nurse-led service that is holistic in its approach, evidence based and meets the individual needs of skin cancer patients.
