Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Matron role. This leadership role will help promote research excellence within UHD and Dorset.

This role provides leadership for the clinical research delivery staff and our NIHR research portfolio. You will also provide support for our collaborative work with BU and our sponsored studies.

We are keen to increase research opportunities across UHD. This will be a key part of your role.

This role requires NMC Registration.

Base Location: Across site - Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole Hospital and Christchurch Hospital

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be responsible for strategic decisions to improve and grow research services at UHD.
  • They provide clinical and professional leadership of the research delivery service and clinical research advice across the research department and UHD.
  • The post holder will champion research across UHD to all staff.
  • They will ensure quality research is delivered with national timeframes and targets.
  • They will ensure the safety of patients and support the review of risks and findings.
