An exciting opportunity has opened up in our busy Obstetric Theatre Department. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an interest in obstetrics to join our team.
The successful applicant needs to have excellent communication skills and work well within a multidisciplinary team.
Here you can develop specialist knowledge in obstetrics and competence in caring for patients in a busy elective and emergency department.
We cover a 24/7 emergency service and elective surgery weekdays.
As a member of the maternity theatre team, you are be able to perform the tasks of theatre scrub or/and recovery practitioner, supporting the surgeon and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Training and support will be available for areas that are unfamiliar.
You will maintain high standards of pre/peri and postoperative care.
Be responsible for the safe use of theatre equipment and ensuring that all equipment at work areas is ready for use.
Be responsible for your own continuing professional development.
This role requires active UK Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
Base Location: Poole Hospital and St Mary's Maternity Unit .

Main duties of the job
Work with the clinical team leaders to ensure the provision of high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Create and maintain legible and accurate records of care.
Work with other disciplines and professions for the welfare of patients.
Maintain, update and develop personal and professional knowledge
Ensure all care is provided in accordance with UHD NHS Foundation Trust Policies.
Ensure compliance within the code of conduct with the professional body.
Handles patients valuables and property in accordance with hospital policy
To be responsible for promoting good and effective communications within the Department.
