Job summary

We are looking to recruit Senior Therapy Assistants to join our dynamic Older Persons Therapy Team at Poole Hospital, UHD. We are offering static full time and part time positions.

Within the acute setting the Older Persons Services (OPS) Therapies team assess and manage patients that present in the Emergency Department, the Older Persons Admissions/Short Stay Unit, the Older Persons Medical wards including complex care wards within Poole Hospital. There will be opportunity to rotate across assessment and wards areas. As a team we are passionate in ensuring that any older people presenting to our acute hospital receives the highest quality care from clinicians with a holistic and rehabilitative approach.

You will work alongside qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to deliver combined therapy treatment programmes, support discharge planning for inpatients, and undertake essential non-clinical roles to support the smooth running of the service.

To be successful in this post, you will have:

  • Previous employment in a health or social care setting (or equivalent) in a care/ facilitation/ support role
  • A GCSE (or equivalent) pass mark in English
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • An ability to work independently within a supportive environment
  • Excellent personal organisational skills including time management

Please note this post includes 7 day working. The post holder will be expected to participate in regular weekend working.
