Job summary

Our multimedia film officer is responsible for coordinating and delivering a broad range of high-quality audio/visual assets for University Hospitals Dorset and University Hospitals Dorset Charity. These include for the purposes of promotion, education and training, engagement, recruitment and patient wellbeing.

The role requires a range of approaches and technical proficiencies across a range of media to help us to tell our stories and put across information that matters, from filmmaking and editing to supporting live events.

The postholder will be the trust's subject matter expert in this field and will be expected to provide expert insight and advice to the communications team and wider colleagues on best practice on all areas of multimedia asset production

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Educated to degree standard, or equivalent experience
  • Experience of producing, filming and editing multimedia content for both internal and external audiences including social media platforms
  • Experience of working within a busy communications environment
  • Digital media experience including use of social media for internal/external purposes

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the NHS or another public sector organisation
  • Proven ability to write engaging scripts and story board ideas which are appropriate to the audience

Technical Skills Competencies

Essential

  • Use of professional digital camera and audio recording equipment
  • Experience of website content management systems
  • Use of Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software

Desirable

  • Use of Adobe software, especially Photoshop
