Job summary
The Gastroenterology Department at UHD are looking for a positive and driven Waiting list Appointments administrator to support our large scale validation project.
The Gastroenterology and Endoscopy team are in the middle of an exciting and bold transformational voyage, with work ongoing to support both short term waiting list recovery and longer term future efficiencies. The team aspires to become one of theleading Gastroenterology departments in the country and we are looking for new team members who will share in this future journey.
This role will offer vital support to our patients and clinical staff. If you have good communication skills, work well under pressure, have good clerical and keyboard skills and enjoy working in a team environment, are motivated and very flexible in your working patterns; then we would like to hear from you.
Base Location: Poole and Bournemouth

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will possess:
- Good IT skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Manage own workload whilst effectively prioritising tasks
- Ability to work within a demanding environment, demonstrating a confident approach to difficult situations
- Excellent team player with good communication skill
The role will form part of the validation team within Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, supporting booking patients for their first appointments, supporting the follow up waiting list, ensuring patients who need to be seen are booked within an appropriate time frame.
We would support all our team members to develop within their career in the NHS, and would be happy to support on the job learning, including apprenticeships.
