Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset are looking for a full time Pathway Navigator on a 23 month Fixed Term contract.

We are looking for a experienced, enthusiastic individual to act as centralised point of contact for patients on urgent suspected cancer pathways in our busy Head and Neck Services team.

Duties will include communicating effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team and relevant personnel from other Hospital Trusts to avoid delays in pathways and to keep service users informed at all times

The successful applicant will be required to be proactive in seeking ways to improve the patient pathway within agreed timeframes and highlight any potential delays in investigations/diagnosis throughout the patient pathway and escalate appropriately.

Base Location: Poole Hospital

Main duties of the job

Experience

  • Significant NHS experience or equivalent
  • Evidence of administrative and organisational skills

Technical Skills

  • Advanced key board skills - Microsoft Word and Excel ? Be able to interpret and follow written instructions from members of the multi-disciplinary team
