The Youth Volunteering project is part funded by the PEARS organisation #iwill fund. Previously funded, we have an opportunity to extend this project for a further 18 months.
The role of Youth Development Officer will continue the project on a fixed term position, offering work experience, placements, projects and voluntary positions.
The post holder will enable new and promote existing opportunities for young people aged 15-25, ensuring positions are made available to and engaging with groups that are at risk of inequality.

Main duties of the job
The post holder would oversee the recruitment and retention of young people into volunteering and temporary placements. They would be responsible for safe placement and community promotion of the service.
The post holder would need a good understanding of developing and updating risk assessments and an ability to negotiate placements with multiple staff with good links to community groups.

- Educated to Degree level in relevant subject/ professional qualification; or graduate with significant experience & evidence of working at this level
- Demonstrable experience working with young people
Desirable
- Volunteer management training/qualification
- QI training Evidence of continued learning or professional development
