Job summary

We have amazing opportunities for you to join us as the clinical lead Physiotherapist for our outpatient vestibular therapy service. This service provides care for patients with vestibular complaints in our outpatient physiotherapy services on both our Christchurch and Poole sites.

University Hospitals Dorset has been created from the merger of Poole and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Trusts. As a large NHS foundation trust, we have the benefit of being next to the beautiful Dorset coastline as well as all the advantages of both urban and rural areas to choose from. Location:This is a cross site role - encompassing work at the Poole hospital and Christchurch hospital sites.

Main duties of the job

As part of your role you would be involved in triaging primary and secondary care vestibular referrals into your service; deciding on appropriateness, priority and suitability for care.

As a clinical lead you would be responsible for the vestibular therapy service and reportable to the MSK therapy service consultant physiotherapist and service lead. You would provide supervision and and support a team of physiotherapists as they pass through their MSK rotations at both Band 6 and Band 5 levels.

Your own practice and development would be supported through close links and clinical support and supervision by our consultant led ENT team.

Christchurch hospital has recently benefited from a million-pound refurbishment, providing two physiotherapy gyms, as well as number of physiotherapy consulting rooms. The site boasts excellent staff changing facilities, cycling to work is encouraged with secure bike storage.

  • Current registration with relevant professional body.
  • Degree level qualification.
  • Relevant post-graduate specialist Musculoskeletal or Neurotherapy course(s)
  • Enhanced Clinical Practice qualification, Level 6 or equivalent experience
  • Recognised mentoring qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Level 7 Post registration/post-graduate qualification.
  • Management and/or Leadership course relevant to healthcare environment.
  • Supplementary or Independent prescriber
  • Relevant post-graduate specialist vestibular therapy course(s)

  • Demonstrable experience of managing patient's care at an enhanced level of practice with specific knowledge and skills in a field of expertise within the vestibular therapy context
