We are extremely proud of our service and hope to inspire you to come and join our team!

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be encouraged and supported to develop your existing extended skills with our highly regarded, innovative and motivated Therapy team. You will be supported to develop quality improvement skills and lead projects to develop the service, so it is fit for the future. You will work with other Clinical Specialist Therapists across UHD as part of a collaborative leadership model for Orthopaedics - both trauma and elective - to support the whole team more widely.

This role requires HCPC Registration

Base Location: Poole Hospital - this post will be part of the wider Orthopaedic transformation, with trauma and elective services swapping sites in 2024/5

Interview Date: TBC

Main duties of the job

This role will have a strong clinical focus and as such we are looking for a confident clinician who can develop skills within the team. This post holder will also need to build close links with the multidisciplinary team to ensure we continue to deliver excellent care for our patients and develop expertise in our workforce beyond Therapy.

The role will include line management of staff and the post holder will also have an opportunity to develop people management skills and will need excellent organisational, communication and management skills.

This is an ideal opportunity for you to positively influence patient care if you have:

  • Clinical expertise working with patients with complex needs
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Motivation to develop services putting the patient first

This post includes 7 day working and therefore the post holder will be expected to participate in weekend working and alternative shift patterns. The post holder must be a car driver and ideally will have access to a car for work purposes.

This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have at interview.

There is a planned move for this service during 2025, when this role and base of work will relocate to Royal Bournemouth Hospital site. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder's home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
