An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join the Transfusion Team as a Deputy Transfusion Practitioner at University Hospital Dorset for a fixed term basis of 12 months.
The successful applicant will be joining the department a very exciting time. We are currently aligning our transfusion policies and procedures across UHD as well as enhancing our Haemonetics BloodTrack system: with the recent implementation of bedside administration.
Main Site: Poole Hospital (There will also be opportunity/ expectation to work at the Bournemouth Site

Main duties of the job
As part of the Transfusion Practitioner Team, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering transfusion training to staff involved in the process of transfusion, support the development and alignment of blood transfusion policies across UHD, provide transfusion related advice to support and facilitate high quality patient care, undertake high quality audit and ultimately promote and champion best practice across the organisation.
You will provide on-going training and support to the clinical teams for the use of the bedside administration (PDAs) of the Haemonetics BloodTrack system and help to implement the Haemonetics training module at UHD.
