Are you looking to build on your knowledge whilst earning at the same time?

We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join #TeamUHD in our medical education team! You'll be studying for your Level 3 in Business Administration with a local education provider, as well as working for us, with one paid study day per week in a funded 18 month apprenticeship course.

We're looking for a team-player who can communicate effectively with staff, providing them with the right support relating to education, training and medical updates.

You'll be based at Royal Bournemouth Hospital in the medical education offices, working full time. Once you've successfully completed your apprenticeship, there will be an opportunity for you to apply to stay with the team.

Main duties of the job

Whilst studying on your Apprenticeship, your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Supporting the administrative processes and functions for all medical education across UHD
  • Ensuring timely level of communication to all doctors relating to education and training and medical updates
  • To provide accurate reporting for teaching attendance and feedback for all medical education relating to the following across both sites and work with the responsible persons for each programme
  • To provide general support to doctors with queries relating to study leave, travel expenses and medical induction
  • Support our outreach programme to local 6th formers across Dorset for those that are interested in a career in medicine
  • The post holder will provide support for room bookings and reception dutie
  • The post holder will ensure that all training rooms are fully equipped with essential resources
  • Self-directed study to complete the Apprenticeship Programme within the 18-month timeline, ensuring assignments and portfolios are submitted on time, and to a high quality
  • Attend regular reviews with your line manager and Apprenticeship Tutor

Attention to detail is fundamental to the role and you will be supported to grow these skills as part of your training.
