Healthcare Support Worker - Haematology

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our small but dedicated and friendly team here at University Hospital Dorset - Poole Hospital, with view of moving to the haematology unit at Bournemouth in 2024.

Durlston Ward is a 17 bedded haematology / oncology unit, caring for and supporting patients undergoing various cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

As one of only a small number of district hospitals in Europe to have JACIE accreditation, Durlston Ward specialises in Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation.

Durlston Ward has recently created two specialist teenage and young adult rooms and have been working in partnership with the teenage Cancer Trust to improve specialist services within Dorset.

Applications are invited from individuals who can demonstrate good standards of nursing care, attention to detail and a patient / family centred approach.

The post includes internal rotation onto nights and weekend working.

Base Location: Poole Hospital. Please note, this service is moving to Bournemouth within the next year and successful applicants will be expected to move across site to facilitate this. This can be discussed further on interview.

Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
