Job summary
The Gynaecology Service is seeking an Operation and Performance Manager to support the Deputy General Manager in the development and provision of a comprehensive, high quality, patient-centred care service within the resources available. This will involve the management of performance, support of day-to-day operational matters and budgetary control.
The post will form an integral part of the Directorate Management team, working closely with the Deputy General Manager, Clinical Director, Matrons, Clinical Leads for the wards and specialties, Finance team, Information team and HR. Working collaboratively to meet the objectives of both the Directorate and Care group while supporting the Trust's overall vision, values and strategy.
Base Location: Royal Bournemouth or/and Poole Hospital. Please note you will be required to work across site.

Main duties of the job
- Support the recovery of referral to treatment standards and cancer waiting times
- Manage and support operational support roles
- Provide support to the Risk and Governance clinical leads to develop and embed the quality governance agenda within the directorate and promote a proactive approach to involvement in all aspects of governance.
- Work alongside the clinical and non-clinical teams to facilitate improvements, leading change and progress as appropriate.
- Provide strong day to day operational management of the services delivered within the Directorate to maintain effective business, workforce and operational plans under the guidance of the Deputy General Manager and Clinical Director/Lead.
- Support the good financial management of the directorate budget through effective management and use of resources e.g. staff, budget, premises, equipment, supplies and materials.
- Establish and maintain effective communication links with all directorate staff, this will vary depending on service need and appropriateness of the content being communicated.
- Provide strong day-to-day leadership ensuring staff are supporting, living and displaying the
- Trust's values and behaviours.
- To assist operational support to manage administration and clerical support staff, dealing with individual and team issues as they arise
- Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure that work is appropriately prioritised and allocated, and that effective supervision is in place to support staff wellbeing.
