We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bank Band 5 therapist looking to join our dynamic Musculoskeletal Therapy Department at University Hospitals Dorset.Our Musculoskeletal Therapy Team is committed to providing high-quality care to individuals experiencing musculoskeletal problems across various domains, including spinal care, lower limb, upper limb, and hand therapy. We take pride in delivering patient-centric, evidence-based care and aim to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community. We work closely with our secondary and primary care colleagues providing a vast support network and training opportunities.The Team provides a high quality, patient centred service to the Therapy Outpatient Departments at both Poole and Christchurch hospitals and to local primary care sites. Senior team leadership provides a supportive working and learning environment. Christchurch Hospital has recently undergone a multimillion-pound redevelopment including 2 fully fitted gyms, including state of the art equipment including watt bikes, anti-gravity treadmill and a variety of resistance equipment. In addition, Poole hospital provides specialist facilities for hydrotherapy. We provide a wide range of groups, education sessions and guided gym sessions in the treatment of our patients.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic therapist to join our teams. You will have at least 12-18 months post grad experience and experience in Musculoskeletal therapy, will previously have worked as a musculoskeletal therapist in the NHS or in a system comparable to the NHS.
You will have the ability to assess, manage and treat musculoskeletal conditions effectively and independently, a reasonable understanding in a broad range of musculoskeletal/orthopaedic conditions, effective verbal and written communication skills and be a good problem solver.This post is a Bank post. Consequently offered hours can be full-time, part-time and offer flexible working.
Base Location: Christchurch Hospital or Poole Hospital
