Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Trust doctors at SHO/FY2 level to undertake an 12 month post as a Junior Clinical Fellow in the Department of Medicine for the Elderly/Stroke Medicine.

This rotation is ideal for doctors who may be new to the NHS to work within a supportive department to gain skills and competencies to enable progression onto UK training programmes.

Our department offers:

  • An overall Educational Supervisor for the duration of your time at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Clinical supervisors for each post
  • Access to study leave and a budget comparable with peers in training
  • Access to ePortfolio and an annual appraisal to maintain GMC revalidation and promote personal and career development
  • A formal process of signing off competence equivalencies
  • Equal access to teaching as doctors in training with regular teaching sessions on offer each week
  • Careers advice, support with specialty application and regular mentorship to your relevant individual needs
  • Opportunities to undertake audit/QI work and teaching

Salary is based on previous experience with the possibility of working at levels comparable with FY2 and beyond.

We also welcome applicants who may wish to work in a less than full time capacity.
