Job summary
Working as part of the University Hospitals Dorset Business Intelligence Department, the BI Manager will play a key role in delivering a high-quality information service to Operational & Clinical staff. As part of the BI management team, the individual will lead a range of BI projects and strategic business tasks.
The post holder will provide business intelligence and strategic analytical support to a range of clients potentially including managers and clinicians within the following areas; Operations, Clinical Directorates, HR, Quality, Finance and IT. This will involve developing highly complex information reporting tools, presenting detailed analysis of activity & performance trends, providing expert analytical advice on a range of projects and attending meetings with managers and clinicians.
The post holder will lead on the development and maintenance of robust information systems and reporting tools to provide the required business intelligence and analysis tosupport the Trustsdelivery of high-quality operational and corporate services and strategic goals.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of BI staff ensuring all work is accurate, prioritised and deadlines met, in addition they will be required to manage staff as part of a project team & deputise for Business Intelligence Partners when required.
We support flexible working with a mix of on site working and working from home.

Main duties of the job
- Work with a range of multi-disciplinary teams across the Trust and in some cases the wider Dorset Integrated Care System providing Business Intelligence support and specialist expertise to meet operational & strategic goals
- To lead the design of strategic and detailed performance reports to Trust Board, Directorates, Commissioners, the Department of Health and other external bodies, including statutory reporting on behalf of the Trust
- To understand the use of information in a wider context across the Trust and to assist in the identification of opportunities to contribute to the continuing development and improvement of the Trust's activities
- Technical project manager for a variety of projects; designing, developing and implementing information systems to meet the specifications of others
