Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the nurse led Dorset Bowel Cancer Screening Centre. You will join a highly skilled, motivated team delivering Bowel Cancer population screening to Dorset. Bowel Cancer Screening is offered to every Dorset resident from the ages of fifty six years and seventy five years.
Over the next three years the screening age will be lowered to fifty years enabling the early detection of even more colorectal cancers. Successful candidates will be employed by University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Poole site.
There will be an expectation that you travel to three other screening sites within Dorset.
The successful candidate will provide expert knowledge, high quality care and psychological support to Dorset Bowel Cancer Screening subjects and their families.

- Registration on Part 1 NMC Register (RGN or RN Adult)
- Comprehensive applied Anatomy and Physiology for relevant area
Desirable
- Degree in relevant subject
- LJMU Specialist Screening Practitioner module at either level 6 or 7
- Specialist knowledge of national and local agenda on improving cancer services, specifically colorectal cancer, endoscopic procedures, valid consent and withdrawal of consent
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience within an acute field
- Significant relevant post-registration education and experience
- Experience of providing training and education
Desirable
- Experience as a Specialist Screening Practitioner within the BCSP
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience within colorectal/gastroenterology/endoscopy
- Experience of autonomous practice
- Experience of quality assurance, audit and research
