Job summary
University Hospitals Dorset are recruiting a Logistics Supervisor at Poole Hospital.
You will help run and co-ordinate a team of approximately 15 full and part time team members covering the main Goods In area, including the safe and timely deliveries of orders to all wards and departments. Linen Room and Post Room, ensuring the highest quality of service is provided across all areas and that all KPI's are met or exceeded.
Main duties include:
- Timely distribution of receipted goods to internal stakeholders throughout the organisation across all sites.
- Receipt, sorting, internal delivery/collection/despatch of mail items.
- Co-ordination of courier services required for the receipt, collection and despatch of goods.
- Linen distribution, replenishment and linen inventory management.
- Works closely with team colleagues to ensure a coordinated approach to operational activities undertaken by the Commercial Services logistics teams.

Main duties of the job
You will:
- Actively promotes team working and customer care motivating staff to deliver quality and timely services which support trust values and assists stakeholders in their provision of frontline patient care
- Ensures the appropriate/timely distribution of receipted goods which meet requirements for sometimes urgent patient care
- Develops excellent working relationships with stakeholders, team colleagues, external suppliers, contractors etc. to effectively discuss, translate and communicate logistics and supply chain related matters.
- Acts as a role model, uses negotiation and persuasive skills to achieve the best possible outcomes for the activities delivered by logistics teams in support of department and organisation objectives.
- Provides advice and training on logistics and supply chain matters to team colleagues and other trust stakeholders, as required.
About us
The Logistics team at University Hospital Dorset (Poole Hospital) is a small but very tight and work ethic orientated team, covering four areas of great importance in the day to day running of the Trust. Covering areas such as Goods In and deliveries throughout the Hospital, Linen Room, Post Room and the Sewing Room, whilst also working closely with Logistics teams at RBCH and our central warehouse team based at Yeomans House. As the Logistics Supervisor you would play a pivotal role in the safe day to day running of the four above mentioned areas.

- Attainment of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certificate level 3 qualifications, or equivalent level training and/or proven professional experience in logistics activities
