Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust

Specialist Pain Nurse

The closing date is 19 February 2026

Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Nurse to join the Dorset Pain Management Service. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with patients with long term conditions but if not please do get in touch anyway and have a chat as full training and support will be provided.

The post is to cover North and West Dorset and the team base will be Littlemoor Health Centre with hybrid working and face to face clinics in locations across the patch.

The Dorset Pain Management Service is a vibrant service, consisting of an inter-professional team. We employ modernised clinical practice to help people coping with chronic, non-malignant pain lead meaningful lives.

Our pan-Dorset service offers individual interventions and group programmes in various locations county wide; these are delivered by two teams across the county. The staff mix includes pain consultants, psychologists, specialist physiotherapists, pain and mental health nurses and occupational therapists, therapy assistants, trainees from various departments and our hardworking admin support team.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist pain management care and interventions, assessments, treatments and manage patients on a caseload, as part of the wider multi- disciplinary care team. To provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients / service users.

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
