Job summary

An exciting opportunity for Clinical Manager's to join our CAMHS High Intensity Environment has become available within our Children and Young Peoples Inpatient Services at our purpose built unit. We are looking for a clinically skilled, enthusiastic, and motivated Clinical Managers to help lead the team. We welcome applicants from all specialist backgrounds including experience within Eating Disorders.

The post holder will work within the senior management team to ensure safe, effective care and treatment, and be supported in their development with learning opportunities.

The role requires an understanding of child and adolescent mental health, leadership and management skills, a good understanding of complex mental health, attachment and trauma issues for children and young people.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to for an experienced, credible, motivated, resilient and inspiring clinician to lead our CAMHS inpatient mental health ward.

The ward will be an 8 bed CAMHS High Intensity Environment/ PICU providing a high quality of care and treatment for patients who have physical, social, psychological and emotional health needs. The purpose of the ward is to offer comprehensive assessments and treatment enabling Service Users to have shorter stays in hospital and to develop clear plans of care.

There will be a strong sense of "team" and staff have been empowered to be innovative and implement their ideas on the ward. We want the ward manager to foster a supportive and learning environment for staff to work in. We have a values-based approach and welcome applications from candidates who will role model the trust's core values.

The successful candidate will possess strong clinical leadership skills, be able to demonstrate a supportive and empathetic approach to service users and carers. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to influence at senior level, have hands-on experience of working with challenging behaviours and a wide range of mental health problems.

  • Registered / Qualified health practitioner to degree level supplemented by minimum PG Dip (120 credits) plus working towards MA / MSc or demonstrable extensive experience in the relevant specialty
  • Evidence of recent evidence based professional development in an up to date portfolio
  • Broad clinical and multi-agency knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to area of clinical practice
