Paediatric Distractor and Audiology Administrator

Job summary

The Audiology Service provides NHS hearing assessment and hearing aid services throughout Dorset.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills to join our friendly team, to work as a paediatric distractor and audiology administrator based at Canford Heath Clinic, Poole and other sites across Dorset.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wishes to work with children in a clinical setting.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, well-motivated and flexible. Good communication skills are essential, along with excellent organisational and IT skills and the ability to manage a busy workload and be able to work calmly under pressure to provide excellent patient care.

A car driver with a full current driving license is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will contribute to this role by working alongside paediatric clinicians acting as the 'distractor'. In addition to this the post holder will contribute towards the paediatric service, administration, and various other job-related tasks.

Applicants must be able to communicate with adults, children and their family/carers and also be able to communicate clearly and sympathetically with hearing impaired people.Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
