Job summary
Dorset Mental Health Support Teams in Schools are seeking Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners or Qualified Wellbeing Practitioners (Band 5) to join the Weymouth, Portland and West Dorset team and our Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole team. We have both full time and part time positions available and are able to offer a flexible work environment.
You will be working with established teams of creative, enthusiastic, passionate professionals who provide excellent support and therapeutic interventions within education settings to children and young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs.
Main duties of the job
The role will be to deliver Low Intensity CBT interventions to support children and young people's mental wellbeing within a number of education provisions across our local areas. You will be expected to hold a caseload and deliver short term evidence based interventions to children, families and young people. You will also be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the whole school approach within the education provisions, liaising with schools, families, local authorities and other organisations to ensure a timely response to local need.
you will need to be able to travel to different education settings within the area so a car and driving licence are essential.
The team offer great support, regular supervision, proactive staff wellbeing and a friendly culture to work within
You will need to have completed an accredited training course with one of the recognised universities to be eligible for this role.
As an EMHP you should have recognised professional registration.
